Prayer is the link that connects us to God. And when we pray for an individual who may not know our Maker, we’re opening doors for them for now and eternity.
We want every man who spends a night at URM to be lifted up in prayer BEFORE he arrives. We don’t know who will check-in for a night’s stay, but God does. We can invite the Holy Spirit to greet him with the love of Christ as he rests his head on a URM Pillow.
Here’s how it works…
The process is similar to a prayer walk. A person (or a group) simply walks through our main dorm room, touching each empty bed. As they walk, they pray for the man who will sleep in each bed they touch.
Ideally, prayer for Every Bed, Every Day occurs Monday-Friday 12:30pm to 3:30pm (when the dorm rooms are unoccupied). Individuals or groups offering prayer are welcome to create note cards, favors or encouraging messages to leave on the beds.
This intercessory prayer effort can also be accomplished by praying remotely and mailing in cards or notes to be placed on the beds.
Every Bed, Every Day is a great activity for church groups, Sunday School classes or circles. Participants who come to the Mission must complete a Volunteer Application.
