Bring Hope to the Door.
Tonight, men across Wichita will walk through our doors carrying almost nothing. Some come straight from the streets. Others arrive after addiction, job loss, or broken relationships have taken nearly everything they had. What they find at Union Rescue Mission is a safe bed, a hot meal, and people who believe their story isn’t over.
Since 1950, URM has walked alongside men facing homelessness, addiction, and poverty. We offer Christ-centered care that moves each man from rescue to transformation to restoration. That journey often starts with something simple, like a clean pair of socks, a toothbrush, or a fresh towel after a hot shower. These small things restore dignity and remind a man that he is seen, valued, and loved. URM receives no government funding. We rely entirely on the generosity of individuals, churches, and businesses in our community.
Our Amazon Wish List makes it easy for you to give exactly what’s needed most. Your gift ships straight to our door and goes directly to the men we serve.
Featured Need
New Men's Socks
The most requested item at our shelter, and the one we run out of fastest.
For a man living on the streets, socks wear out quickly. Long days on foot, wet weather, and cold Kansas nights leave many men with blisters, infections, and painful foot problems. A new pair of clean, dry socks does more than keep feet warm. It protects health, brings real comfort, and offers a small but powerful sign that someone cares.
Your gift of socks helps a man:
- Stay warm and dry through Wichita's cold months
- Prevent foot injuries and infections
- Feel clean and confident as he takes his next step forward
We go through socks every single day. Keeping them stocked means no man leaves our care without this basic need met.
