Building Remodel Updates

We are in the process of updating the designs for the remodeling of the 2800 N. Hillside facility. That work was delayed as we have been in talks with Kansas Department of Correction about a program for parolees who will be homeless upon release, and we are incorporating space designed for them. Also, we have been trying to design the space so that men enrolled in residential long-term programs are housed separately from men in the emergency overnight shelter. During November 2023, we had a donor group pledge $500K to allow us to accomplish that, hence the updating of the remodeling plans. God’s timing is now very clear. Both of these objectives that we had hoped to address during the remodeling are now possible! We are in talks with WDM Architects and CONCO Construction to make final design adjustments and update the construction cost estimates. We hope to be under contract with work starting in the spring of 2024! Stay tuned for updates.
